About
Hi Iām Karrina, a BSc Sports Therapist, Strength and Conditioning coach, with a decade of experience, working with first time gym-goes, weekend warriors as well as athletes in various sports including basketball, football, weightlifting, judo, and paralympic rowing. Alongside this, I am a mum of two children (6 years old and 2 years old), so I understand the constraints of limited time, and juggling a full time career, health, fitness and family!
I love to empower my clients to achieve strength, power, overall fitness and injury prevention, with tailored programmes listening to what my clients enjoy doing.
Beginning my fitness journey at a young age, I honed my interest in strength training and developed a passion for Olympic lifting, competing in the sport for the past 9 years. As a British Weightlifting Level 2 Instructor, I apply my skills both in individual and group settings, knowing how to build strength, move well and get you fit(ter)! Additionally, I obtained a Level 1 Precision Nutrition qualification equipping me to guide, educate and support you on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through nutrition without any crazy diets.
I graduated at UCLAN BSc (Hons) in Sports Therapy where I gained experience rehabilitating athletes at Wigan Warriors, Morecambe Football Club, and with PGMOL referees.
I have worked at Fairway Physio for the past 2 years in Lancaster, serving as a sports therapist and strength and conditioning coach, adept at treating acute injuries, guiding early rehabilitation, and facilitating clients' return to the gym and sports.
My treatment repertoire includes ultrasound, manual therapy, mobilisations, and myofascial cupping, tailored to address a spectrum of injuries ranging from muscle tears, sprained ankles, disc herniations and chronic pain.
With six years of experience as a sports massage therapist, and ten years as a strength and conditioning coach, I have always been driven to deepen my understanding of the injury process and prevention.
I pride myself in possessing a natural inclination to aid and support individuals, addressing various discomforts and injuries, from commonplace pains like lower back and neck issues to deeper concerns like chronic pain and sports injuries. My expertise extends to enhancing athletic performance, optimising mechanical movement, and facilitating strength training and weight management. Whether you're a novice or an elite athlete, I provide tailors individualised training programs, offering movement consultations, and implement injury prevention strategies to help you achieve your specific goals.
My coaching philosophy revolves around empowering you to gain deep insights into your body and movement patterns, fostering progress in performance, body composition, and overall health and lifestyle enhancements.
